Yeah Carls Jr is open
Ok, yes we do live in a small town, and we do get excited when a new place comes to town!!! Ha ha ha!!!
Since it was its first day open, after The Secret Meeting of the Saints, we all had to check it out.
The Secret Meeting of the Saints
I don't really know how to put into words the awesome power of God that was at our Secret Meeting of the Saints. The point of the night was to help us appreciate the freedom of religion that we have in this country that others only dream about. We had Bro. Seah as our speaker. We met in the little upstairs Sunday School classroom and had a worship services without any lights so we could get the feel of what it would be like to be in hiding. Bro. Seah captivated all of us during his message as we set on the ground in a circle. The title of the message was "Living in the Spirit and Walking in the Spirit." The cross Bro. Seah told us about I believe has changed all of our lives.
The alter services that followed the message was very powerful. One of the mothers coming to pick up her daughter from the service could hear us out in the parking lot. She joined us and got lost in the spirit with us.
Fuel the Fire 01/25/08
Wow what an awesome time we had at Fuel the Fire!!! Our 1st one of the year has for sure set the stage for what we expect and desire for the rest of the year.
Bro. Adam taught about False Profits and knowing how to discern those professing to be Profits and leaders, it was a great lesson with lots of life application.
The best part of the night is when one of our new comers got the Holy Ghost!!!

Secretive Meeting Of The Saints
Christians under persecution throughout time have gone to great measures to grant us the religious freedoms that we have today. We are going to take a step into a world that others still live in so we can gain a deeper appreciation for our religious freedom!
Southern Sudan
Believers are often under fire — literally. Islamic armies from the north bomb churches and pastors’ homes. Some radical Muslims believe that their god wants them to kill infidels — their name for non-Muslims — in a holy war.
Malaysia
A young Malay girl caused a national uproar when she announced she was marrying a Christian boy. Her shocked family kept her confined for more than a month, forcing her to listen to Islamic teachers who warned her about infidels. Muslim leaders all over the country condemned her. The Malaysian government proposed a bill recommending harsh punishment for converts to Christianity — all of this over one girl’s decision!
"They hung me up across an iron gate, then they yanked open the gate and my whole body lifted until my chest nearly split in two. I hung like that for 4 hours."
That is how Peter Xu Yongze, the founder of one of
the largest religious movements in China, described his treatment during one of five jail sentences on account of his belief in Christianity.
Southeast Asia
Linh was a 15-year-old girl living in Southeast Asia. She loved Jesus and her family. She went to church, where she led a youth Bible group. She attended high school, played the keyboard and dealt with other “normal” things in life.
But she also had bigger worries. Once, the police took Linh out of school for several days. For hours each day, they kept her in a room at the police station and asked her questions. She wasn’t given any food. They wanted to know about her friends in the youth group, about her church and about her Christian faith. “Why do you waste this time?” Linh asked. “You know what we do. We do good things. We train youth not to be alcoholics and commit crimes.” After a while, they gave up interrogating her and sent her back to school. But Linh didn’t relax. She’d been questioned before and knew that she could be again at any time.
Christians have to meet secretly in homes and forests — and yes, sometimes underground. They rarely are able to worship in a large building with a cross and steeple. If you were a believer in Linh’s country, you’d always have to be ready to talk to the police. And if you talked about Jesus in school, you wouldn’t make many friends.
It’s scary. It’s real. It’s the Underground Church.

FUEL Trivia
Well...maybe we'll take your picture, and post it here.
It IS a pretty prestigious honor, you know!
...stop laughing...it's not nice.
OK, OK; here're the questions.
1. FUEL stands for: _____ _____ _____ _____
2. The primary source of fuel (petroleum) used in the United States (as of 2005) was what country?
3. Henry Ford's early automobile, the Model T, was able to run on either gasoline, or _______.
4. At the 1900 World's Fair, Rudolph Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, introduced his new engine, which ran on what fuel?
5. The pendant lights in the FUEL station have glass shades that are what color?
6. The FUEL Student Ministries logo has a man on it, doing what?
7. In 2002, in the United States alone, consumers burned: _ _ _ ,730,000,000 gallons of fuel.
8. Name two alternative fuels used in automobiles, in the United States, in production vehicles, today.
9. How many true alternatives are there to the FUEL that's distributed at the FUEL Station?
10. Name two things that were on the original FUEL Station plans/drawings that were omitted from the final space (due either to budget restrictions or design inconsistencies)?
There you go; enjoy!
(And by the way: we're glad to accept any donations to go toward some of those items that we omitted from the final incarnation of the FUEL Station!).
WAIT! There's a BONUS Question that I just thought of!
The FUEL Student Ministries logo was originally conceived by Bro. Rios and his graphic artist. Pastor and Sis. Hill, though, created an alternative logo, which was WELL-RECEIVED by all (except for Bro. Rios). The Hill's logo had a particularly memorable slogan on it. What was that slogan?
